Witheridge, the Sea and Football: my life this weekend

Observations I have made about England:

  1. It's very similar to Canada - through direct questioning I have been asked if people in Canada have pets, as well as if they dress up to go to weddings.
  2. Driving on the left side isn't quite as weird as I seem to remembering it being. If there was a need, I could probably drive with only a moderateamount of panic attacks.
  3. Everyone does drink tea! Or everyone I've been with anyways.
  4. Not that this is news to me but football is huge here. I've actually become interested in it in a very miniscule sort of way.. Don't tell Luke, I'm counting on him not reading my blog and it'll all go to his head.
  5. If you start in London and want to do something COMPLETELY different after, go to Witheridge.
Luke's grandparents took us to Seaton yesterday which was probably my favourite part of this weekend. We walked by the sea, went rockpooling and I thought it was lovely!

We are finishing our time in Witheridge tomorrow and I will be off to the powerhouse that is Coventry. Looking forward to meeting about a million more people!

Things My Brother Says #5

What a fitting post, with it being Brett's 20th birthday!

We went to our usual family Chinese restaurant. And last time we were there him, Mo and I all got Long Island Iced Teas, which are just a tad girly. Just a tad though, right? So Brett wanted a duplicate tonight but I had to drive so refrained, and Mo just ordered water. So Brett ordered a Long Island Iced Tea - "Guess it was just a one time tradition..."

Opening presents: "Let's establish a protocol people. I don't read cards out loud and you may applause every time I open a present."

And let's say it is suffice to say that Brett also described a certain romantic night for one day in the future that would include candles and music. In the form of R&B and steam engines.

That's it for today, folks! Happy Birthday, Bretty!

things heard in the house this weekend

In no particular order...

"Where did you get your British accent from?"
"Britain."

"Why ride my own camel when I could get someone else to ride it for me?"

"He probably has some very... different viewpoints on politics. You probably wouldn't understand, Kim."

Ohhh to be at my house this weekend.

Mondays Are Awesome 003

It's been a really awesome week, as a week off should be. I've been sleeping and reading and basically doing nothing - so glorious. Anyways, onwards!

1. TV
Since being off school, I've managed to catch up on all my essential tv shows! This list is diverse but includes Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Castle, Alcatraz and Modern Family.

2. Dancing!
There was a swing dance social thing this weekend that was lots of fun! I very much enjoyed dressing up and dancing and hanging out with my friends.

3. Spanish Lattes
Not the boozy kind but the kind that I found at this adorable little mediterranean place. Apparently they use condensed milk so it's similar to Vietnamese coffee - anyways, SO GOOD.

4. The famjam
Since it's Family Day, Brett, John, Mom, and I all watched a movie this evening! Though, Mom fell asleep and Brett 'went to the bathroom' and failed to reappear,  I feel like John and I bonded.

5. Homemade Bailey's
We made more :DDDD

because evelyn wanted to see the pictures

As I think about teaching high school in the very near future, I do realize that I look very young - like, young enough to not actually be out of high school yet. And lucky for me, I have a cousin that likes to make sure I know how young I look!

This is Evelyn. We look sort of the same age here, mainly because my hair is pulled back. Evidently I look older when my hair is pulled back.

FUN STORY: This is the elephant ear with loads of icing sugar we were about to devour. I seriously have problems eating these because they are quite messy and I ALWAYS wear dark colours when I eat them. #whenwillshelearn

This past summer, Evelyn and I would go to the Fringe and the guys at the patio of a bar would ask if she wanted to join, provided her cousin was old enough.

Ladies and gentleman, she is 16. I AM 22!!

So we were shopping the other day, and by sheer luck, I caught her in a moment of looking 16!

Pretty cute, hey?

Oh, family, how silly you are.

Things My Brother Says

I think this should be a semi-regular feature, as my brother is hilarious.
"Only girls have sugar daddies, Kim. Boys just have bros who are also pimps."

Day 30 - A picture with someone you miss

I realize I am not in this photo but I liked it better than all the ones I was in. Deal.

Vancouver! Seattle!

There will be no more 30 Day Challenge until I get back next week! But I will leave you with a list!

My travel bag is awesome because:
1. Everything fits, with room.
2. Everything is organized.
3. Everything is folded nicely.
4. Everything was done by my cousin, Evelyn, while I threw clothes around my room and chattered incessantly about how much there is to do.

Day 14 - A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without

So this is pretty sappy, but my mom and brother are taking the cake here. The past couple years has really given me a deep appreciation for these people and I could not imagine life without them.
