Oh Coloccini, you are the love of my lifeeee.

This past weekend, I was a sports fan.

I know, I know. You are all wondering who I am and where the real Kim is, but it is true.

Since I started dating Luke, I have been to two football matches, and one American football game. I can tell you that this is more sport than I have attended in the past 22 years of my life. And I know at least 3 Newcastle chants. Coloccini's being my favourite. Google him for some fantastic hair.

So we decided to spend last weekend going to a Newcastle United game. And it was quite the trek to even get there!

We opted to stay at Luke's house in Leeds for the weekend and get there on Saturday, bus to and from Newcastle on Sunday, and then from Leeds to Coventry on Monday. It was a great idea in theory until we got to the house. It's under renovations so there was literally no kitchen and the first two floors were unusable save for the washroom which was a sketchy situation at best. I'm actually excited to go there in October, because it will be like the 'great reveal' on a TV show and I'll start crying and the tv film crew will surround me and joy will be everywhere. Or, you know, it'll be a house of smelly boys... Either way.

It was actually really cool to go North. I'm getting the real tour of England! Though, 'North' in England feels vastly different than 'North' in Canada.

Leeds and Newcastle were very charming. Beautiful cities! I wish Canada looked prettier sometimes. I'm excited to live in Leeds this winter

Oh, and Newcastle drew 1-1 with Aston Villa. My man, Ben Arfa scored Newcastle's goal. Mmhmm.

Update on my life! :)

Needless to say, my life has been eventful the past while. I've had some stuff happen in my family and the in the family of a close friend and summer school started at work and Luke left for England. Yeah, pretty busy.

So this is a pretty cute photo, no? This was taken on one of our failed dates. Sometimes we try to have exciting/romantic dates and it usually doesn't work out. So we went to the legislature grounds to play in the pool but it was closed for maintenance... LRT fare gone. and it was a very hot day. But we got a nice photo.

We were trying to pack in everything before he went back to England so in one week we went to a football game, a pool party, played mario kart (don't ask, I'm rather bitter still!) and our families met!

My dance performance team finally had a gig on Canada Day so I was able to perform a few times before I take off to Europe!

Where am I off to in Europe? WELL.

England: I am heading there first to see Luke and hang out in the UK. For the most part, we'll be in his home town on Coventry, which is the picture above. It looks pretty nice if you ask me but apparently it's a dump. Guess we'll find out!

Then I will be off to Stirling to see my good friend, Brian who manages a hostel there. We are going to tour the highlands!

My gameplan from there is sketchy at best but I know not to plan too too much. Anyways, the plan, for now, is to go to Spain after, particularly Barcelona. I've heard incredible things about Barcelona and I can't wait to see it for myself!

Other plans include going along the Meditterranean but we will see how it plays out/how tight money becomes!

In other news, I'm still playing Draw Something. Thought I'd show you a couple of my gems.

Beautiful, no?

Last thing: I needed to share with the world that I got 3rd place in a laser tag game. Out of 33 people I should mention. Not out of 3...

xoxo

my life the past while

So the month of May passed by so quickly! So sorry for the lack of updates! I'll give you guys a brief overview of what's been going on and what I've been up to. It's pretty random stuff.

Firstly, I convocated! YAY. And with me here are my beautiful education graduate friends! I love you two.

This is the meal I ate yesterday. I was both a little scared I wouldn't have enough pictures on this bog for Lauren to like this post and a little proud of my cooking abilities so I thought this should probably make it up. Garlic-cheesy chicken with rice and veggies! :)

I booked my ticket to Europe! More on that later. But when I am there, I will see this one...

I just love this picture.

So sunny outside! Squinty shadowy picture!

If you look closely, the giraffe is sticking it's tongue out to get the leaves.

Lauren's cabin with some really wonderful people. So calm.

Maybe tomorrow I'll talk about my summer plans! :)

things heard in the house this weekend

In no particular order...

"Where did you get your British accent from?"
"Britain."

"Why ride my own camel when I could get someone else to ride it for me?"

"He probably has some very... different viewpoints on politics. You probably wouldn't understand, Kim."

Ohhh to be at my house this weekend.

lists about boys

my blog things of the day/30 day challenge whatever says I get to make a list today! YAY..

five things I hate about the opposite sex

So I was watching Bridget Jones earlier, and I realized it makes an excellent backdrop for both loving and hating men. She's so angsty and hates men, and then she loves men and goes back and forth like that for a bit. Anyways, my list is a bit different than hers which is:

"alcoholics, workaholics, sexaholics, commitment-phobics, peeping toms, megalomaniacs, emotional fuckwits, or perverts"

Mm, or maybe not.

But my additional five:
1. when they think they're too boss to text you back
2. when they have double standards - I feel like we all know about this
3. when they burp/fart and don't say 'excuse me' - come on, manners, gentlemen!
4. when they say my friendliness led them on. false - I was just treating you like a human.
5. when they aren't ryan gosling :(
